Wellington County officials say the local housing situation has reached a crisis level in the county and in response have launched an awareness campaign in hopes to address the issue.
In a press release, officials say the situation is already critical in the county with the median home price in Centre Wellington alone has risen 235 per cent in five years, much higher than income growth over the same period.
The campaign, Make Wellington County Home – Everyone Should be Able to Live Here looks to share stories from businesses and people who are struggling to find housing to meet their needs and look into facts of rental or ownership options to available to communities to add choice and affordability.
