Wellington County will be increasing the minimum user fee at all six county waste facilities as of January 1st.
The fee will now $10 minimum, a decision to encourage residents to use the County’s existing curbside collection program with residents who now dispose of small amounts of garbage at waste facilities being subject to a new minimum fee.
The minimum fee will apply to all materials brought to County waste facilities including waste contained in yellow user pay garbage bags with several exemptions.
Materials designed by the Province under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act will get exception.
