Wellington County is continuing to highlight the issues within Wellington-Guelph for housing affordability and homelessness.
The county’s housing services supports advocacy focused on sustained and flexible funding, increased provincial investment and stronger protection for renters.
Local data from the county shows the average three bedroom rental has increased 23 per cent, reaching about $2091 per month with an average of 263 households per month experience homelessness.
The county notes municipalities can’t solve this issue alone and it will take all levels of government to ensure people will have access to safe, stable housing.
