Wellington County changes decision & approves increase for non-union staff

Wellington County Council has reverse a September 24th decision which defeated a decision to give non-union employees a 1.9% pay increase.

Council had previously frozen wages at the 2020 levels.

They reversed the decision at the February 25th meeting, in a portion that was taken in-camera. The decision for the privacy was due to the discussion of labour relations or employee negotiations.

Council approved the increase effective July 1st, 2021 making it a 0.95% wage increase due to it being adjusted for starting half way through the year.

The decision will impact 800 non-union County employees.
