Wellington County has adopted its 2024 budget with a 4.6 per cent increase to the County’s property taxes.
Among some big parts of the 2024 budget includes $37.4 million for roads, bridges and culvert replacement, Ambulance service expansion including adding nine new paramedics to improve on response times, enhanced direct care hours at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home and increase service levels for the Ride Well Rural Transit Service.
Chris White, part of the Wellington County’s Administration, Finance and Human Resources Committee says the budget attempts to strike a careful balance between limited the cost impact for residents while providing the necessary resources to deliver core services.
