The Maitland Conversation Authority is up next to issue a water safety message given the warmer temperatures and melting snow packs.
The safety message applies for all municipalities across the Maitland and Nine Mile River watersheds.
The conservation authority says windswept fields might appear bare but the snowpack still holds significant water content throughout most of the watershed.
With more snow melt expected this can result in river levels approaching bank full over the next few days and lead to minor ponding in typical low lying areas.
Municipal officials are encouraged to check drainage systems and monitor low lying and flood prone roads.
