Water Main Flushing in Stratford for the Week

Some Stratford residents could see some discolored water this week. Stratford’s Environmental Service division is beginning flushing water mains of mineral deposits and sediment using high velocity water flow.

This practice can allow for a bettering scouring of pipes while also using less water than regular water main flushing.

The work is being done in a variety of areas across the city.

While discolored water could be seen, it will eventually turn clear after running your cold taps and the quality of water will not be affected.

There are a total of eight sections of the city that have been selected for the pilot project:
• St. Vincent Street for Lorne Avenue to Patterson Street
• Wellington Street from Cambria Street to St. David Street
• Queen Street from Douro Street to Regent Street
• Nornabell Court
• Rankin Street
• Graff Avenue from Mornington Street to Dorland Drive
• Dufferin Street from Walnut Street to Elm Street
• Nelson Street from Maple Avenue to Walnut Street
