Huron County OPP is investigating a case of fraud following a report to police.
On February 21st a 28 year old from Perth County was filling up their vehicle at a gas station in Exeter and paid with their credit card.
Shortly after they received a call saying their credit card had been compromised.
The person calling requested the victims credit card number and verification code.
The victim provided both to the scammer and e-transferred $7500 to themselves to save their money.
The victim received a verification code but then realized their money had been stolen.
