UTRCA Urging Caution With Snowmelt Across the Watershed

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is reminding the public to be cautious around rivers, streams, and ponds with warmer temperatures and rain causing a large amount of snow melt.

This snow melt has led to runoff and increased flows in local waterways.

Around 15mm of rain has fallen across the Upper Thames River watershed since Sunday night on top of around 20mm of water content in the snow.

The UTRCA isn’t expecting significant flooding but water can spill over the banks in the areas known to traditionally flood in the spring.
