Heavy rainfall Tuesday and throughout July has another safety warning issued by the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority.
The UTRCA says rain totals of 50-70 millimeters fell north of St Marys on Tuesday with that rainwater running off into ditches, rivers and streams and parts of the ground is still wet from rain earlier in July and is not able to absorb all the water.
The conservation authority doesn’t expect serious flooding of major creeks or rivers but low lying poorly drained areas could see some flooding.
Heavy rainfall throughout the month across Perth County saw some flooded basements across areas in Stratford.
The conservation authority continues to operate its flood control reservoirs across multiple conservation areas to reduce downstream peak flows.
