With Giving Tuesday coming tomorrow, the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is requesting the public to consider giving a shot to support turtles at risk locally.
The conservation authority says Southern Ontario endangered turtles face many threats such as road traffic, poaching and shrinking habitats and without help, none of their eggs would hatch in the wild.
With the help of Southern Ontario At Risk Reptiles program or SOARR the incubation program has been able to have 97 per cent of collected eggs hatch successfully.
The support of donations for SOARR helps ensure the protection of endangered reptiles.
