UTRCA Board Pushing Against Province’s Plan to Consolidate CA’s

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is pushing against a proposal from the province to consolidate Ontario’s 36 conservation authorities into 7 larger regional authorities.

For the UTRCA this would mean they would become part of the Lake Erie Regional Conservation Authority and include 81 municipalities.

The Board of Directors is strongly encouraging watershed municipalities, First Nations, partners and other interested to look over the province’s proposal to consolidate the CA’s as they say this proposal has serious, long lasting implications for local watershed management.
