The Upper Grand District School Board shared word today is International Childhood Cancer Day.

They say it is a global collaborative campaign to raise awareness about childhood cancer and express support for the children and adolescents with cancer, the survivors and their families.

Each year more than 400,000 children and adolescents under 20 are diagnosed with cancer around the world.

There is an 80 percent survival in most high income countries but they say it’s as low as 20 percent in low to middle income countries.
