The Board says they came to the decision after consulting with several parties on the board’s authority to mandate public health measures.
The Board adds that the have added the changes to mask protocol to their next meeting set for March 22nd.
They say they will need to follow the direction of government and align with the Ministry and rescind the Board resolution on masking in place since August of 2020.
They Board says that students, staff and visitors are still weclome to wear masks at their schools as it is their choice. They add that masking indoors continues to be strongly encouraged.
Staff will continue to be provided with personal protective equipment.
