United Way Perth Huron has launched its yearly campaign hosting a kickoff party in Listowel Friday afternoon.
In years past United Way has used their annual campaign to address what they list as the unignoreable issues locally including homelessness and housing.
United Way has taken on their biggest fundraising goal yet to the tune of $2,624,772.
United Way supports nearly 1300 vulnerable people in the community and they continue to look and how they can make a difference.
The campaign kickoff in Listowel was once again held at the Ward & Uptigrove parking lot.
Lee-Anne Andriessen, chair of the North Perth Community Committee says while the goal is large, its something that will tackle the needs of the community.
“It’s a big goal for us but we know the needs are really deep and in order to support the needs of counselling, our community support worker and even these new housing projects, this money will support our community really well.” said Andriessen.
Donations and support continue to be encouraged for United Way to help them reach their highest fundraising total to date to all be kept locally.
