United Way Perth-Huron announce new Living Wage for Region is $20.70 per hour

The United Way Perth-Huron’s Social Research & Planning Council announced a new living wage for the Region today.

The new wage is $20.70 per hour, up from $17.95 just a year ago.

Kristin Crane, Director of the Council says that as we’re seeing prices increasing across the board that means that workers need to earn more to keep pace with economic pressures and to thrive, not just survive.

The living wage is based on a 35-hour work week and is calculated considering living expenses for family types include a family of four, single mother support a child and single adult.
