United Way Perth Huron continues to make strides in Listowel with the opening of the North Perth Access Centre on Main Street West.
Access Centre’s act as a way for those in the area to gain access to services available to them as well as offer a spot to simply come and speak with others.
The opening of the Listowel centre provides a step to address transportation challenges and other barriers to access services in the rural region.
Ryan Erb, Executive Director of United Housing says this is a stepping stone for Listowel, acting as a way to help build the town better for years to come.
“I think everyone can trust that we are doing everything we can to work on the next projects. Wouldn’t it be great if we had 17 social services agencies instead of 5, wouldn’t it be great if we 41 housing units in addition of 10, wouldn’t it be great if we had a new library that met the needs of the community as the population doubles in the next couple of decades?” said Erb.
The space will also be utilized by the Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society, Optimism Place, the Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance, Canadian Mental Health Association of Huron-Perth and the Well Community Collective.
