As the LCBO strike nears one week in, Premier Doug Ford has stood his ground on having ready to drink cocktails being rolled out into grocery and corner stores.
Around 9000 workers represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union have walked off the job with all LCBO stores closed in the province.
The union has stated the primary point of contention is the government’s expansion of alcohol sales in Ontario.
Local workers on strike have expressed their concerns about dealing with theft and how expanding more alcohol sales into grocery stores and how they could manage theft of alcohol, especially with those underage.
