The Ontario Career Lab has partnered with the Career Education Council and Upper Grand District School Board, hosting Career Connection events for grade 9 and 10 students.
Wellington Heights Secondary and Guelph Collegiate Vocational students took part in the career lab for an engaging, hands on experience to connect students directly with professionals across a range of industries.
Students were able to ask questions, hear stories and learn what different career paths could look like.
Research has shown early career conversations can have a lasting impact with students also sharing how valuable it was to hear what day to day work looks like, what education or training is needed and how career journeys change over time.
