Traffic Study Feedback in North Perth Open

Back in September, Brenda Dumond acting as a delegation at a North Perth council meeting.

Dumond had requested the intersection of Krotz St. West and Wallace Ave South be made a 4 way stop and not a 2 way. Concerns over the last while has been drivers going beyond the posted 50km/hr speed limit with young families surrounding the area. A traffic study was done and recently was showcased.

Heather Hector, a transportation engineer at Paradigm Transportation Solutions LTD who helped with the study says the idea of traffic calming measures could potentially be a fit.

“These are things like police presence, radar feedback boards. I know there is one placed on Wallace Avenue already just giving drivers feedback on their speed.” said Hector

Hector adding other possibilities such as a protected pedestrian crossing could offer a solution.

“Based on the counts we collected in March, the pedestrian and vehicle volume warrant a pedestrian crossover.”

North Perth is taking feedback and comments from the public information session until July 31st. Feedback and the full session can be found from YourSayNorthPerth.
