Town of Minto Gearing Up for Slew of Christmas Events

There is no shortage of Christmas events planned this month across Minto.

The Town of Minto, Chamber of Commerce, Minto Fire and local downtown revitalization committees have all partnered up with a variety of events including shopping nights, family days, Santa Claus parades and more in each downtown core.

Erin Raftis, Minto’s Marketing & Community Development Coordinator says when it comes down to the holiday season in a small town, it can’t be beat.

“It’s time for us all to gather, listen to Christmas songs and also shop local and support our small business community at the same time.” said Raftis.

The festivities will kick off with Harriston Rising’s Candy Canes and Cocktails: A Sip and Shop Experience on November 15th from 4pm-8pm.

Visitors can follow the business passport to shop the sales and enter to win $500 in prizes, taste more than 5 different specialty cocktails located throughout the downtown, listen to music by local youth while relaxing by the campfire, and more.

The Palmerston Lions and All Aboard Palmerston then invite all to Light up the Park on November 17th from 6pm-8pm.

Family-friendly activities will be spread throughout the Palmerston Lions Park, beginning with hot chocolate at the Lions Den. Stay to watch an incredible fire works show, take pictures with Santa and the Grinch, watch incredible performances by Brant the Fire Guy & Oncidium the Glow artist, play reindeer games, and more!

On November 18th, families are encouraged to spend the day in Harriston enjoying activities such as face-painting, visits with Santa Claus, fireside stories, a vendors’ market, lunch and more. In the evening, all are welcome to the Crown Harriston to watch Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer before the Santa Claus parade starts at 7pm.

At 8pm, the Grey Wellington Theatre Guild welcomes you to get tickets for their holiday play, “12 Days ‘til Christmas” featuring local talent.

The holiday shopping events conclude at Clifford Connects Christmas in the Street event on November 25th from 5pm – 7pm, right before the Clifford Santa Claus Parade.
