At their May 4th meeting council reviewed a staff report that recommended moving forward with an RFP for installation of the charging stations.
The locations being considered are McMillan Park or the Erin Community Centre or both.
Funding for the project will come from the voluntary water levy reserve plus from reserved funding from Nestle Waters that funds a project of councils choosing.
The stations will allow hybrid vehicle owners to fully charge their cars in 3 to 4 hours.
