On March 5th just after 8 am police stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 86, east of Listowel, after it was found travelling over 140 km in an 80 zone. A 28 year old of Kitchener has been charged.
On March 15th just before 10 am police stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 34 in Perth East after it was found travelling over 130 km in an 80 zone. A 20 year old of Kitchener has been charged.
On March 16th just after 11pm police stopped a vehicle on Perth Line 86 after it was found travelling in excess of 136 km in an 80 zone. A 25 year old of Kitchener has been charged.
In each incident a 30 day driving suspension and 14 day vehicle impoundment was initiated. The accused parties are scheduled to appear at a Stratford court at a later date to answer to the charges.
Last year changes to the provincial stunt driving laws saw a decrease in the threshold for what is considered racing. 40 km over the limit, or higher, above the posted limit if it’s less or greater than 80 km per hour.
