Police are looking into the theft of telecommunication wire in Guelph-Eramosa.
On July 27th at around 12:45pm, Wellington County OPP were called about damaged telecommunication infrastructure along Highway 7 east of Skyway Drive.
Two lengths of copper telecommunication wire was deliberately cut by an unknown suspect in the overnight hours of July 24th-25th.
Service outages were found the next morning with the cost of the materials and repairs expected to exceed $5000.
Telecommunication wires are often targeted for their copper content, which is commonly resold at scrap yards, making them a target for theft.
