The Grove Launches #GetReal with CMHA

The Grove of Wellington-Guelph alongside the Canadian Mental Health Association of Waterloo-Wellington have launched the #GetReal campaign.

The goal is to reach as many local candidates in the election to ensure mental health and wellness is a priority, Voters are encouraged to reach out and make sure the topics are on the municipal ballot.

Cyndy Moffat Forsyth, Executive Director of the Grove says the topic is important, especially for youth who continue to deal with mental health issues.

“We’re seeing a steady increase in youth coming through our doors and that they are asking for help. They want the sense of belonging, they want to feel included and want a safe place to hangout.’ said Forsyth.

Forsyth adds the Groves across Wellington County, while offering a similar level of support for help, each offers a unique approach for skills such as Palmerston which saw many youth interested in learning about music.

“We know that our youth are in crisis. We know that. What we need to do is address how we can help them and the best way is by listening to them and letting them talk.”
