Tarriffs on Pause, Canada Putting $1.3 Billion Border Plan in Effect

For now, tariffs on Canada are on pause.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday said he had a good call with President Trump as Canada implements a $1.3 billion border plan including more personnel, drones and helicopters.

Trudeau says 10,000 front line personnel will be working at protecting the border, Canada will be listing cartels as terrorists and the federal government intends to appoint a “fentanyl czar.”

Trump says they are pausing the tarriffs for a 30 day period to see whether or not a final economic deal with Canada can be structured.
