SWIFT announces funding for expansion of high speed internet in Perth County

Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology is a joint initiative between the provincial and federal government working on the goal of brining high-speed broadband to under serviced areas in Perth County.

Mornington Communications received funding for 3 fibre to home projects add service to 665 homes and businesses in North Perth and the Township of Perth East.

TCC will receive just under 1 million dollars to add fibre to home networking to 113 households and businesses in West Perth by early next year.

And Wightman Telecom was awarded just over a quarter million dollars to deploy fibre optic cabling to connect 91 households and business in North Perth.

That project there should be complete by early 2022.
