Hensall Co-op has named the winners for the Strong Communities Initiative.
This has marked the 6th year the initiative has been done and through it, more than $180,000 has been put for not for profits that support rural communities.
Two recipients were given $10,000 for projects being Stephen Central Public School in South Huron and the Carman Wellness Connections in Carman, Manitoba.
Stephen Central will use their funding for their playground replacement project while Carman will purchase multi purpose modular tables and boardroom for meetings or small gatherings.
Four others received $2500 for projects including the Mitchell Ag Society, Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Foundation, Ailsa Craig Food Bank and Glenboro Agricultural Society.
