The City of Stratford has purchased property for a new police headquarters.
City council has approved the purchase and renovation of 10-52 Wright Boulevard of an estimated cost of $36 million.
The new headquarters will replace the old building as its been seen as undersized, inefficient and inadequate for the current and future needs of police services.
Moving to a new building was found to be cheaper than renovating the existing headquarters which was estimated at $36-40 million with it also not addressing some of sites constraints including lack of parking or room for expansion and accessibility challenges.
