Stratford Police are warning residents of an ongoing lawnmower scam which has affected a handful of people.
Over the past weekend, police received several reports of a fake advertisement of a lawnmower for sale in Stratford.
Those who responded to the ad say they are now out several hundred dollars.
The buyers had been requested to make a deposit via e-transfer before picking up but when they went to the residence they found the homeowner did not make any ad for a lawnmower for sale.
Police know of four people who have fallen victim and believe there are more.
Anyone who has fallen victim to this scam or anything similar is asked to contact police to file a report.
Police add its important when doing online transactions to make payment at the time of the exchange to the seller.
