Stratford Police Seeking Grant for Automatic License Plate Readers

Stratford Police say they will be applying for a grant to have automatic license plate readers in a handful of their cruisers.

While Ontario removed the requirement to pay for license plate stickers, it is still a requirement to renew but at no cost.

The Ontario Ministry of Transportation will soon have a call for police forces in the province to send in grant applications of a $42 million investment to help have police cars with the technology needed to find invalid license plates.

Stratford currently has 1 vehicle equipment with an automatic reader.
