It was nearly 8 hours for firefighters battling a blaze at a popular motel on the outskirts of Stratford.
The fire was reported just before the afternoon at the 20 room outdoor retreat on Forest road, on the boundary line of Stratford and Perth East. The main building was a charred ruin by the afternoon. The weather and large size of the L-shaped motel made it more difficult to fight. One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries but not considered life threatening.
While investigators have yet to total the damage, it’s already obvious from the sight the damage is beyond repair.
