Drivers of non electric vehicles who park in EV spaces could soon be fines for doing so.
Stratford’s Infrastructure, Transportation and Safety subcommittee recommended to council to pass a traffic and parking bylaw amendment to regular electric vehicles, charging stations and EV parking spots in the city.
The proposed fine for non electric vehicles taking the parking spots is $120, or $100 if paid within seven days.
Similar fines are imposed by other municipalities such as West Perth, Dufferin County and Collingwood.
