St. Marys Launches Tree Donation Program

The Town of St. Marys announced today that they are launching their Tree Donation Program.

The program is aimed at creating natural areas in St. Marys in a continued effort to enhance the urban forest. The first location is the Meadowridge Park Naturalization Project.

The creation of naturalized areas and Tree Donation Program was approved at the recommendation of Town Staff and the Green Committee.

The Town and it’s partners the Upper Thames Conversation Authority and the St. Marys Rotary Club will plant approximately 450 trees and shrubs to kick start the naturalized areas.

The expectation is that the final size of the natural area will be 30,000 square feet. No existing amenities such as the sports field or playground will be impacted by this project.

Anyone wishing to make a monetary donation for trees to be planted in Meadowridge Park for the spring of 2022 can do so at townofstmarys.com/treedonation

Part of the project includes the installation of a trail through the nature area, allowing donors to experience the memoriam forest.

Donors will receive an acknowledgement certificate and also an option to purchase a plaque for $20. They will be installed along the walking trail in the memoriam forest.
