St Marys has launched a program to promote and highlight the use of waste reduction within the community and its small businesses.
The Green Initiatives Awareness Program was made by the towns green committee to recognize and share the community’s efforts to fight climate change.
Starting this spring the town will ask businesses which fit in certain categories to undertake in the interest of environmental sustainability.
Some businesses have done their part already such as Snapping Turtle Coffee Roasters, who since opening in 2020 have partnered with Petals & Foliage to use their coffee grounds to boost premium compost and top soil.
