As part of a committee report to county council, its been found most of the tickets being issued from Wellington County’s Automated Speed Enforcement Pilot Project aren’t even given to Wellington residents.
Time of day numbers show most of the speeding infractions at the camera locations are during the daytime of 7am-5pm at 87 per cent, the evening from 5pm-12am at 12 per cent with the overnight of 12am-7am at 1 per cent.
These numbers changed slightly to the end of August at 69% during the day, 27% for the evening and 4% at night.
Only 28 per cent of County residents were found to be those infractions whereas 72 per cent of non county residents are caught on the cameras.
A total of 201,873 penalty orders have been given from January 15th to the end of August.
