Members from the York Soaring Association, who have an airfield just east of Arthur on 5th Line are among those speaking out with the proposed location of a 45 metre Xplornet telecommunications tower.
Wellington North council were given letters regarding the proposed tower in a meeting back in June with letters in August saying they wanted to erect two towers within the area.
One of the towers, located at 8316 5th Line would be set 1800 feet east of the York Soaring Associations preferred 2600 foot long runway.
The association says the location of the tower would put pilots and passengers in danger.
The club adding they just want the tower moved.
