The Special Investigations Unit has completed its look into police involvement connected to the death of a 47 year old Kenilworth man last year.
On November 26th, Wellington County OPP went to a home on Concession 7 in response to a resident there causing damage.
Police set up a perimeter with a negotiator unsuccessful in making contact.
After 8 hours, tactics and rescue unit officers entered the home and found the man dead inside, who had shot himself with a crossbow.
The SIU were involved for investigation to determine if officers had taken too long to enter the home.
Officers had been told the man was unstable and had access to multiple weapons. The SIU were not able to determine at what time the 47 year old killed himself only saying it might have occurred at the time of police arrival.
The SIU concluded they did not find any grounds to lay criminal charges connected to the death.
