The Special Investigations Unit is now involved after a 21 year old man suffered serious injuries as they allegedly fled a RIDE check in Belwood.
Wellington County OPP were conducting RIDE checks in the area at around 2:40am on January 22nd when they encountered a snowmobile said to be driving erratically.
Officers drove to Sideroad 10 and located the snowmobiler but they reportedly fled the scene. The man was later found with the snowmobile in a nearby ditch in West Garafraxa.
