Search Warrant Digs Up Over $133,000 in Drugs

A search warrant has turned up over $133,000 in drugs.

An investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crime Unit, Grey-Bruce Community Street Crimes Unit, Stratford Police Street Crime Unit and Huron OPP found drugs, weapons and cash.

On July 12th at around 8:35am an individual was located and arrested in Mitchell as a result of a drug trafficking investigation. Following the arrest, two search warrants were executed on West Gore Street in Stratford and Homes Street in Mitchell.

Police seized methamphetamine and hydromorphone capsules as well as digital scales, packaging material, cell phones, a BB gun, 3D printed handgun components, a taser, stolen police shirts and police badge.

The combined estimated value of the seized drugs is $133,300.00.

The combined estimated value of the seized property is $22,700.00.

Canadian currency seized is $485.00.

As a result a 44 year old of Stratford faces multiple charges,

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Hydromorphone,
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine,
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime,
Possession of a Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order,
Unauthorized Possession of Weapon – (taser).

The accused was held for a bail hearing and later remanded into custody.
