The Stratford District Secondary School Symphonic Band has gotten gold recognition at a recent music festival.
The band took gold at the B400 Level at the Golden Horseshoe Music Festival.
Director Kelsey Regier says the students have been pushing themselves with challenging repertoire and it was something long awaited after the original festival date was postponed in February due to weather.
Further, Jasmine Powell was given the Student Leadership Award for her dedication to running music council, the jazz combo and her alto saxophone section.
