The Listowel Salvation Army is keeping as busy as ever, looking to support those in need across the community.
Between continuing HOPE LINKS or planning the backpack program the Salvation Army is inviting the community together to stay informed on their works while also giving back by holding a BBQ later this week and next month.
Gwyneth Woods, Community Family Services Manager from the Listowel Salvation Army says everyone is welcome to attend the bbq no matter who you are.
“Whether you’re an individual where things have been rough and you’ve accessed a program or a community member who’s accessed our garden programs or a volunteer or board member we want everyone to come together, enjoy a meal and celebrate the summer.” said Woods.
Those interested in volunteering for the Salvation Army are also encouraged to attend the bbq and get more information on joining.
The Salvation Army bbq will be held at the Salvation Army Church on July 26th from 5-9pm and on August 23rd, also from 5-9pm.
The Salvation Army recently ran into troubles over social media and decided it was best to just start over. Those wishing to keep up to date with everything on with the Salvation Army can visit their new Facebook page.
