A Rockwood resident is out $5000 after being the victim of a grandparent scam.
On November 5th at around 4pm, Wellington County OPP responded to a report of fraud after an unknown suspect called a resident saying their son was arrested and needed $5000 in bail money.
The suspect later attended the victims home and collected the money.
Shortly after the victim found out their son was not arrested and realized they had been scammed.
The suspect is said to be a brown male, middle-aged, facial hair, heavy build, wearing a white t-shirt and dark coloured pants.
The suspect vehicle is said to be a white Toyota sedan with tinted windows.
