Replacement of Kinsmen Pool in Budget Discussions

North Perth is still breaking down numbers for this years budget with the public still asked to provide their input.

A public consultation was held on April 17th.

Residents who answered the pre-budget survey said the 3 main concerns in North Perth were traffic issues, general infrastructure and healthcare recruitment.

In a breakdown of proposed capital projects, the mention of the Listowel Kinsmen pool reaching its life expectancy was highlighted.

Budget Vice-Chair Neil Anstett says a replacement for the pool is planned.

“The facility will need to be replaced and in preparation for the construction, detailed drawings need to be completed. Staff will put out an RFP (Request for Proposal) for various designs, this is a carryover project from 2022 due to staff capacities” said Anstett.

Budget Chair Lee-Anne Andriessen says the budget this year for the pool will involve seeking advice from consultants about the next steps for the pool. She adds they do anticipate replacing the pool and using some equipment and elements they already have.

The public is still encouraged to provide their thoughts on the budget and voice their concerns.
