Remembering The Listowel Arena Collapse 63 Years Later

Today marks 63 years since the collapse of the Listowel Arena.

The tragedy killed 7 young boys and their coach.

The Memorial Arena was built with what had remained of the original building and was home to the Listowel Cyclones until 2017.

A memorial plaque was placed dedicated to the coach and players who lost their lives and hanged at the Memorial Arena until it was moved to the Steve Kerr as part of the opening ceremony.

Today, the arena has been demolished and discussion continues to have the Listowel Memorial Park in its place with all design concepts to ensure a memorial for those lost remains in place.
