Quilt Draw for The Village Fire Victims Next Week

The quilt draw to help support the victims of the Village Fire in Listowel which took place in April will wrap up next week.

Tickets are still available for purchase with all proceeds going to benefit the victims who lost their homes. Sarah Farrish says normally a fundraising dinner or dance would be held but due to restrictions she had to think outside the box.

“It’s harder to do things like that right now and bring people together. So I just thought I could make a quilt, I have a long arm quilting machine and I decided I could put it to work and make a quilt and sell tickets on it.’ said Farrish

Farrish explains some the design behind the quilt.

“It’s red and a softer pink. The centre block is a red itself, it signifies the heart of the home. In a log cabin quilt typically the strips around to form the log cabin mean the foundation of the walls and of your home. It kind of fit for the purpose.”

The draw will take place June 30th at The Village Clubhouse, the winner will be contacted by phone.

Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20 and can be purchased by messaging Susan over Facebook or calling her at 519-291-0225.

Irene McKee at 519-418-1650 and Joan Smith at 519-887-6924 are also available to sell tickets. They can also be purchased from Listowel Farm Supply and Stoltz Sales & Service.
