Blue-green algae has been spotted near the Belwood Lake Conservation Area.
Noticed earlier this month, public health is warning the public the presence of this algae can lead to illness.
Those that notice the blue-green algae in the water they should assume the bloom is toxic, avoid contact and keep children and pets away from the water.
Public health says to not swim or play in the water, do not use the water for drinking or other purposes and to not eat fish caught in water containing an active blue-green algae bloom.
