This week marks Emergency Preparedness Week across Canada and Huron-Perth Public Health is getting involved taking on the theme Be Prepared, Know the Risks.
Public health says everyone has a role to play in preparing for emergencies who add knowing the risks could be relevant to your community and region which can help you better prepare.
Locally, the types of emergencies which can impact Huron-Perth includes extreme heat, extreme cold, air quality such as wildfire smoke, floods, severe storms, tornadoes and infectious disease.
Senior Public Health Inspector, Dale Lyttle says taking action to ensure you and your family are prepared for emergencies throughout the year can help lessen the impact and stress of these events.
