Ontario is putting up $14.4 million and Ontario Pork an additional $3.6 million for the construction of a new $18 million dollar swine research facility featuring state-of-the-art technology to build the capacity and expertise to support cutting edge research, contribute to competitiveness and productivity.
In addition, both levels of government are investing $1.3 million dollars through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership to upgrade the Ontario Beef Research Centre.
This funding will see the purchase of 96 Insentec feeders which are able to precisely track and adjust the nutrition of each cow individually as needed.
