Program to Give Youth Agriculture Experience Boosted

Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food has announced an investment of $3.7 million to enhance the Youth Employment and Skills Program (YESP) to support nearly 300 jobs in agriculture.

The program aims to support agri-food employers and provide young Canadians from the ages of 15-30 with job experience in agriculture which could lead to a career within the sector.

The Youth Employment and Skills Program will support employers with the costs of hiring Canadian youth into the sector which applicants include producers, agri-businesses, industry associations, provincial and territorial governments, Indigenous organizations and research facilities.

Applications will remain open until March 21st and are available Agriculture Canada’s website.
